The Devil's Workshop opened its doors in the summer of 2005. This workshop/studio/gallery is located in the artistic district of West Queen West.

The owner, Sarah Wan, is a creative and talented artist as well as an inspirational teacher. Prior to attending Sheridan College, where she studied Interpretive Illustration and Design, she taught children's bead classes. After graduating, she apprenticed as a Silversmith and quickly advanced to Master Silversmith. Her students have been delighted with their completed projects and she has mentored numerous aspiring jewellery designers during her career as a Silversmith.

The Devil's Workshop offers students the opportunity to "forge" jewellery, from unique earrings and trendy bangles to classic wedding bands. Classes range from Beginner Level Wire-Working to more specialized technique specific classes such as Lost Wax Casting and the Wedding Band Workshop. You can check out a demonstration on the web at www.thedevilsworkshop.ca/howitsmade.

Sarah recently created the hugely popular Wedding Band Workshop (http://www.thedevilsworkshop.ca/workshops_weddingbandworkshop.shtml). This unique Workshop is an opportunity to create one-of-a-kind rings; the process and experience brings a deeper meaning to these symbols of marriage. Couples are proud of the beauty and quality of the rings made with their own hands.

In order to meet increasing demand, Sarah has added classes to run almost every night of the week. Drop by and talk to the friendly staff about classes or check the website at www.thdevilsworkshop.ca.

Many students are empowered by learning how to safely and properly use such tools as an oxy-propane torch and jewellery saw. Students will learn how to measure, cut, forge and polish precious metals into unique pieces of art. It is a hobby that provides a creative outlet, handcrafted gifts for loved ones and a great way to adorn yourselves in jewellery you have only imagined possible.

The Devil's Workshop is also a hip jewellery boutique which features some of the most talented artists in the city. You can see some of the beautifully handcrafted pieces exclusive to the Devil's Workshop at http://www.thedevilsworkshop.ca/gallery.shtml. The Devil's Workshop also creates commissioned pieces as well as repairing damaged heirlooms. By the way, featured pieces change regularly, so be sure to stop by often.

Surrounded by art galleries and boutique shops in Toronto's artistic neighbourhood of West Queen West, you will find the lively Devil's Workshop. The Devil's Workshop is steps away from the picturesque Trinity Bellwood's Park and right along one of the historic TTC streetcar lines. There is plenty of metered parking along Queen Street as well as free side street parking http://www.thedevilsworkshop.ca/contact.shtml.
